- The title of the film appears on screen near the end of the trailer with the title of the film moving across the screen near the end of the trailer, this is because like most trailers the makers want to keep your attention throughout and they can do this by not telling you the film title at the start and making you watch the whole trailer to find out what it is.
- We are told who is starring in the film because well-known actors play the two main characters that are seen in the film. The names are given to us by appearing on the screen in a similar way to how all the text appears throughout the trailer.
- The action we see from the film in the trailer is varied because they have used the action that would have drawn the audience in and made them want to see the film, but they have to also use the action that helps tell the story without giving it all away.
- The music at the start of the trailer doesn’t seem to be your typical thriller trailer music, because it wants the audience to think that it is going to be a happy film. Then once the music changes it gets the audiences attention even more with the repetition of the piano along with the strings it begins to make the viewer feel uneasy and wonder what is going to happen.
- The trailers voice over is very much like a narrator telling the viewer the story to the audience, it also blends in with the dialogue you hear from the characters.
- The speed of the action we see in the trailer is shown at a steady pace, which creates tension throughout the trailer because you never know if the action will pick up and give plot lines away.
- In the last frame of the trailer you are shown the names of the people who have produced and directed the film, you are also shown the name of the person whose novel the film is based on. This is what the final few frames of the trailer are like because now they have showed you the main action, which the main actors are and the name of the film they want to give some people involved some credit, such as who composed the music.
- For this film I think that the poster is as equally effective as the trailer because they both clearly tell the audience a general plot of the story and how it is going to effect the characters.
