Analysis of Single White Female Poster

The image for the poster shows you the two main characters from the film Allie and Pedra, who is Allie's new roommate. 
The image for the poster is very effective for catching the audiences attention, because Allie's face is lit up and you can see the worry in her eyes, where as Pedra isn't really lit and is looking through a gap in the door which suggests that she is quite an evil/dark character within the film. 


Telling you who is in the film
They have put the actors names at the top of the poster in a bold white font which makes them stand out because of the background being dark.
Also they have not put the names over the corresponding actress they have done it in order of who is playing the bigger part or who is the more famous actress.


Font
The font they use throughout the poster is very simple, even though they use two different font types. For the title and names of the actresses the font is in bold and looks like an Arial type font, which contrasts with how they have wrote the tagline. This font looks similar to Times New Roman which reminds the viewer of an old typewriter.

The tagline on the poster is what the narrator would say in the trailer to advertise the film, which is something that would draw the audience in. This also made an effect on the viewer of the poster because when reading the tagline, they would hear a narrators voice in their head.


Film Title
The way they have placed the title of the film on the page is effective in catching the audiences attention because of how it looks like it has been torn out of the paper and with the bottom of the main image being darker the white and red of the title stands out even more.
